The Reverend L. E. Anderson, Jr. was born May 16, 1966 in Modesto, California to Barbara Jean and the late Lonnie E. Anderson, Sr. In July 1979, Pastor Anderson accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the Christian Love Missionary Baptist Church in Modesto, CA under Rev. James M. Anderson. On Jan. 20, 1991, he preached his first sermon, “Opposites Attract,” at the People’s Missionary Baptist Church in Bakersfield, CA under the late Dr. Ishmael Kimbrough, Jr., and was licensed to preach in December 1991. He later united with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Selma, AL under the leadership of the late Dr. F.D. Reese. In 1993, he was appointed Youth Pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. In 1994, Pastor Anderson was ordained and appointed Assistant Pastor of Ebenezer. In July 1996, he was called to Pastor Berean Missionary Baptist Church of Marion, AL.
On October 30, 2002, Pastor Anderson accepted the call to be the Pastor of the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. He preached his first sermon as pastor on December 8, 2002 and was officially installed March 23, 2003.
Under Pastor Anderson’s leadership, the F.D. Reese Christian Academy was birthed on October 12, 2008. The school now serves students from K-4th grade in an academically challenging and spiritually nurturing setting. The Mount has also planted the Grace Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Pastor Cedric T. Anderson, Sr.
Pastor Anderson is an author (Partnering with Pastors & Church Leaders: Closing The Back Door), a past board member of NBCA Foreign Mission; Past Director of the Midwest Regional Nationwide Evangelism Training; member of the Board of Directors of Minsters United For Ministerial Development, Current Moderator of Logos Baptist District Association, Member of Indiana Black Expo; Board member of HESP; and a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Pastor Anderson graduated from Selma University dual majors in Bible and Pastoral Ministries and in Bible and Christian Education, and later graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Arts in Bible and Pastoral Theology. He continued his education, completing his Master of Divinity in Pastoral Studies in 2012 from Grace College and Theological Seminary. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Grace College. In September of 2019, Pastor Anderson received the prestigious "President's" Scholarship from Grace Seminary. He is currently pursuing his D.Min at Grace.
In addition to his church and community responsibilities, Pastor Anderson is a devoted husband and father. He is married to the former Patricia Davis of Madera, CA., and they have four children (Rev. Cedric Terrel, Brooke Jean, Alexandria Nicole, & Loni Elyse), one daughter in law (KeiAnna) and two grandchildren (Cedric, Jr. and Cameron).
Most importantly, Pastor Anderson is a man of God, steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.
